Allergic to jewelry?
Nickel is the most common metal allergy. Copper is second. Since sterling silver and gold alloys contain copper, some people are sensitive to gold and silver jewelry. Stainless steel often contains nickel, which is why some people are sensitive to it.
Argentium silver contains much less copper than ordinary sterling silver. In addition, the germanium used in argentium silver migrates to the surface, reducing skin contact with the copper. It is a good choice for people with mild copper allergies.
Titanium and niobium are pure elements (not alloys). I have not heard of anyone having allergies to either of these metals. They are frequently used in jewelry, but don't have the bright finish associated with gold and silver. I use niobium ear wires on my copper earrings.

If you have a favorite piece of jewelry that irritates your skin, try coating it with two coats of clear nail polish everywhere it touches your skin. You may have to reapply the nail polish frequently, but at least you'll be able to wear the jewelry.
